February 2026

You will notice this newsletter is very short. To better support our leaders’ time, we are introducing a streamlined monthly Membership Snapshot. This concise updated newsletter highlights essential membership priorities and timely actions - the things you need to know “now”.

Additionally, we are announcing a Quarterly Membership Deep Dive newsletter that will provide expanded tools, strategy, learning opportunities, and recognition. This hybrid model ensures clear communication while preserving meaningful depth.

February 17 is Founders' Day! On February 17, 1897, nearly 2,000 people gathered in Washington, DC, answering the call of Alice McLellan Birney and Phoebe Apperson Hearst to discuss “questions most vital to the welfare of children and the manifold interests of the home." This launched a national movement dedicated to advancing the well-being of children.

Founders’ Day is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with the heart of PTA and remind families that our mission thrives when everyone has a seat at the table. This month, spark engagement by highlighting volunteer contributions, sharing stories about PTA’s history and impact on your school community, and increase your membership numbers in the process!
